CATHOLIC FAITH AT HOME RESOURCES APRIL 11

APRIL 11 IS DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

WHAT IS THE FEAST OF THE DIVINE MERCY?
WHY IS THIS A SPECIAL FEAST DAY?

To hold a great banquet for one's friends, one must first send invitations.

The Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska
is filled with invitations from our Lord Jesus Christ
to celebrate with Him
the great Feast of the Divine Mercy.

Why did Jesus ask for this Feast through St. Faustina?

In the Diary's entry 965, Jesus said:

"Souls perish in spite of My bitter Passion.
I am giving them the Feast of My mercy.
If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity.
Secretary of My mercy, write,
tell souls about this great mercy of Mine,
because the awful day, the day of My justice is near."

There are graces on Divine Mercy Sunday!
Jesus said (in Diary, 699):
"On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open.
I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy.
The soul that will go to Confession (within 8 days)
and receive Holy Communion
shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.

On that day are open all the divine floodgates
through which graces flow."

Celebrate with Deacon Bob at 11:15am on Sunday, April 11.

AN EASTER MESSAGE
FROM ARCHBISHOP SCHNURR

"God’s history with man promises deliverance, resurrection.
There is no evil that God cannot make good.
No hurt that He cannot heal.
No plea that He does not hear and answer."

Our history – as a church and as individuals – is still in the making.
We may not know what comes next but we do know how the story ends.
