Mr. Collins will become principal of St. Thomas More on July 1, 2022 and music director of St. Thomas More on May 9, 2022. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. Collins graduated magna cum laude from Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and Music Performance in 2003. He went on to earn a Master’s degree in pastoral ministry at the Athenaeum of Ohio in 2010. In June 2015, he acquired his administrative principal license through the Ohio Department of Education and served as Principal at St. Peter in Chains in Hamilton for five years and St. Vivian School for two. Having recently relocated to Brown County, he began seeking employment closer to his new home. Mr. Collins has been active in parish ministry from a young age and has worked in various positions within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati for the past 25 years. During that time, he has been Music Director at several local parishes and has taught Music and Religion classes in Catholic schools for 11 years. He has served as a Pastoral Minister in other ministries, including Religious Education, Youth Ministry, as well as Peace and Justice Ministry. He has served on various committees in the Archdiocese including the Principal Advisory Committee to the Superintendent, External Accreditation Validation teams, as well as the leadership team for the youth component for the National Pastoral Musicians Conference.
Mr. Collins feels blessed to be part of St. Thomas More ’ s thriving school community and to have the opportunity to share his experience and leadership. He believes that Catholic schools are not only centers of excellent academic instruction, but, first and foremost, places of formation in Christian discipleship. He embraces the Catholic Church ’ s model of servantleadership and looks forward to working collaboratively on behalf of students. Mr. Collins and his wife, Wilma, reside in Sardinia. They are the proud parents of five children, and are blessed to have five grandchildren.
