    • "The Seven Sacraments continue the saving work of Jesus until he comes again and form the center of the celebration of the Christian mystery. Through the ministry of the Church, all are invited to hear the Good News, follow Christ and share in these saving mysteries: mysteries that symbolize, make possible, realize and nurture the grace of the sacraments in the baptized. Participation in the sacraments ... is foundational to sustain the faithful in union with the very life of the Trinity.  Participation in the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, is not simply an option; rather, it is foundational to sustain the faithful in union with the very life of the Trinity and to strengthen them for the rigors of living their faith as committed disciples."

      • Sacramental celebrations for babies, children, and adults

The Sacraments are outward signs instituted by Christ that impart divine grace to those disposed to receive them. The seven Sacraments were instituted by Jesus and His Apostles and form an integral part of what it means to be a Christian. All celebrations of the Sacraments are done through the liturgical life of the Church.  (Theologiea III, 65, 3]..

    • The seven sacraments are grouped into three types:

      1. Sacraments of Christian Initiation:
        Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist
      2. Sacraments of Healing:
Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick
      3. Sacraments of Service:
        Matrimony and Holy Orders

This grouping, while not the only one possible, does allow us to see that the sacraments form an organic whole in which each particular sacrament has its own vital place. In this organic whole, the Eucharist occupies a unique place as the "Sacrament of sacraments": "all the other sacraments are ordered to it as to their end."

(Catechism of the Catholic Church, para 1210-11; quote is St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa).

The celebration of the Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith, and so all other liturgies flow from and to the celebration of Mass.
